If you are thinking about taking a trip with your dog, you
may want to consult a variety of sources beforehand. The
most timesaving and inexpensive sources would be available
through the Internet. When planning a trip with my dog, I
usually consult two of my favorite websites, www.petswelcome.com
and www.dogfriendly.com

What I like about www.petswelcome.com is that it provides a link
to lodgings that then opens up to the following choices,
among others:

• US Lodgings
• Canadian Lodgings
• Hotel Chains
• B&Bs
• Cats
• Fun & Cool Places
• Beaches

Under US Lodgings, you can then choose the state and the city
or town you would like to visit and check if there are any
Pet Friendly Hotels listed. Information will also be given on
pet weight restrictions ( if any ), additional pet charges or
further restrictions such as whether or not you can leave the
pet in the room when you are out.

If you were thinking of traveling to Annapolis, Maryland, for
example, you would click on “US Lodgings”, then Maryland and
under Annapolis, you will retrieve the following hotel among
others:

"Homestead Studio Suites Annapolis – Naval Academy"

"We welcome one pet per stay. The charge is $25.00 for one
night stays, $50.00 for two night stays, and $75.00 for any
stay of three nights or longer. This fee covers a full
professional room treatment, as necessary, and always
includes carpet cleaning. Please contact the Extended Stay
hotel directly to learn more about the pet friendly program
and to secure a full copy of the pet policy."

I would also strongly suggest that you “google” the hotel
name to see if it has been rated elsewhere by vacationers.

If you wanted to see if there were any places in Annapolis to
go with your pet, you could click on “Fun and Cool Places”
and there you would discover that there was this:

"Quiet Waters Park 600 Quiet Waters Park Rd."

"Description: Quiet Waters Park. Annapolis Maryland. This
park does charge an entrance fee. However, it is well worth
it. This park has many paved paths as well as a small beach
which is right on the river. The beach is a short walk from a
parking lot deep into the park. However, if you and your
animal want more exercise, then you can park closer to the
entrance and walk around the park to the lake. There are
bathroom facilities as well as vending machines at each
bathroom facility. To get there, take the exit for Aris T.
Allen Boulevard off or Route 50. Take Aris T. Allen Boulevard
south and it will end on Forest Drive. Continue south on
Forest Drive until Hillsmere Drive and turn right, then turn
right into the park."

Before traveling with my dog, I always check a second
website, such as www.dogfriendly.com, since there may be
additional information listed. For instance, under this
website, they list a Loews Hotel in Annapolis that was not
mentioned on www.petswelcome.com.
www.Dogfriendly.com has additional
features that might be of interest such as an outdoor dining
guide, a beach guide and a dog friendly event listing.
